Polytechnic University is a well-known university, especially when it comes to engineering specialties. This was very important for me when choosing a place to study. I studied at the Institute of Machinery, Materials, and Transport and studied material science and technology. I have a very good impression of the teachers — they not only provide educational material but also act as mentors and friends and help me deal with difficult situations.

In the first months of life in Russia, of course, it is difficult for an international student. The habits and way of life here are very different from China. But gradually I got used to it, and now itʼs easy for me here. I love walking along the embankments of St. Petersburg, itʼs a very beautiful city. My wish for all future students is to be active in class, not to be afraid of teachers, study hard and finish what you start

I looked at what rankings the university has in the world and in my country. Polytechnic University has a fairly high position, which attracted me. Besides, I wanted to know how many foreign students are at the university and what its history is. I read that the history of Polytechnic University is very long, and many outstanding scientists worked there.

This experience has taught me new things, Iʼve grown and become an adult version of myself. And for that I am grateful to my family for giving me this opportunity.

The first year I was in the preparatory department, studying Russian. And when I finished, I went home. And I realized that I looked at many things with completely different eyes.

The most difficult for me was the first year. In this period, you adapt to the Russian system of education, get used to everything new. And then everything goes much easier. I like the fact that we have a lot of practical work, for me it is the best way to learn.

One of my favorite subjects is marketing. I’m also very interested in sociology, and also in organizational behavior: we study how people behave within the company and interact with each other. Management in its various aspects is also interesting to me.

I like the fact that the teachers at Polytechnic University are passionate about what they do. They have a lot of experience and knowledge, and you can see that they are eager to pass this on to the students. It is great that SPbPU has professors from different countries.

The best part while studying my program was linking theoretical studies with the practical application. Also, all the subjects in my course was a part of specialization. Moreover, for me the best experience was completing my thesis, as it was one of the realistic experiences that, I hope, will contribute to the science and technology.

I would like to say that the university has the best infrastructure! Modern laboratories, interesting international seminars and high quality professor-student interaction. At the same time, spring season is really beautiful, one can easily admire the beauty of St. Petersburg. Also, the best part of the university that they provide opportunity of employment during studies, as I also worked as an research engineer in my department and acquired some practical skills.

Сhoosing this program was one of the best decisions of my life. Studying at Polytech directed me for the industry and further research work. I highly recommend to all the international students to be a part of this program and takeaway the best moments of life.

I lived in Russia for a year while I was studying for my master's degree. I loved it very much! Life was amazing, I enjoyed every day. I still miss Russia and want to come back sometime. In general I would like to come to Russia every year, I really like your culture.

I wanted to study mechatronics and artificial intelligence. I researched all the universities around the world that offer this kind of course. It is important for me for me that Polytechnic University is highly rated on international education ratings. And, of course, the city: St. Petersburg is a very beautiful city and it is a good place to study.

The Russian education system has a good balance, students can study, but they also have time to enjoy life. Also in Russia, the grading and examination system is not as complicated as, for example, in India. I think this is good because while studying you don’t think about grades and final exams, but concentrate on the learning process.

Many Russian teachers have a good level of English, which is a big plus. Because if you have a lot of knowledge, but your language skills are not very good, it's going to be difficult to convey them in an accessible way.

My thesis topic was “An improved SLAM system for autonomous vehicles”. Autonomous vehicles can be driven by themselves, they are also known as self-driven cars, for example, Tesla and other companies. And SLAM is known as Simultaneous Localization and Mapping. It helps to understand the path of the car that is going on the road without a driver and the map around it. It is a very complex process. So my thesis was describing the problems of the SLAM algorithm and I improved this algorithm by few points.
