Change of Address

In case if foreign nationals were registered at another city of the Russian Federation (were registered at a rented apartment, stayed at a hotel or a hostel), they must register with the migration service anew. If no registration was received in the other city, the ticket to St. Petersburg (its Xerox copy) should be provided.

If an international student was registered at a hotel, hostel, or hospital in St. Petersburg, a new registration at the place of residence must be obtained within 3 business days.

If an international student moves to another dormitory, he/she must submit documents for a new registration to the Passport and Visa Department within 3 business days.

When submitting documents, an international student must have:

• Registration slip from the city visited, or the hotel/hostel/hospital in St. Petersburg
• Xerox copy of the passport (all pages)
• Xerox copy of the Migration Card
• Ticket to St. Petersburg

Pursuant to Russian legislation, foreign citizens who violate the immigration regulations (the period established for migration registration) are subject to a 7,000 ruble fine and may be deported from Russia based on a court decision, with a further ban on entry into the Russian Federation for up to 5 years.
